The Royal Street parking structure on the university campus would be converted. Making it fit for a future in which the car would play a less pivotal role in society and on campus.
Some of the parking remains in tact, as a future without any cars seems unrealistic to me, though the parking structure would be upgraded with various amenities that I think cars can make way for and then co-exist with and around cars. Vertical farming would be applied on the most visible facade. The ground level would become shaded multifunctional space and a large public stair would lead from the gardens on the southeast side up onto the central deck where these amenities are. A study was done on demountable single person units that could easily be brought to site and craned on top of the structure.
