From a house to a home 2022 - ongoing
This house from 1895 was put on the market after the foundation was restored for buyers that would see it's potential and fill it in to their own taste. It was the perfect opportunity for me and my partner to turn this unique house into a home!
For years this building was rented out by an affordable housing company as two separate apartments. We have the opportunity now to turn the building into one house, considering the historic elements from over the years, elevation changes that have been growing over the years (specifically on the backside where the yard is).
Starting with the top floor, there was a lot of demolishing to be done. Followed by insulating the roof and making a larger stair-opening on the other side of the house, where we put in a spiral stair. Finally we put in new sub-flooring.
